Helping Caribbean families raise safer, smarter digital citizens. The Protecht Project supports communities with tools, research, and guidance to protect children online.

ABOUT

The internet opens up a world of opportunities for Caribbean children—but it also comes with real risks: cyberbullying, online predators, misinformation, and screen overuse.

The Protecht Project is a community-powered initiative based in Barbados, working to help families, educators, and policymakers keep children safe in the digital world. We provide trusted resources, local research, and practical tools tailored to Caribbean realities.Because when it comes to online safety, our children need more than filters and firewalls—they need informed, empowered adults behind them.

WHAT WE DO

The Protecht Project works at the intersection of parenting, education, and technology—because protecting children online requires a village. Here's how we support safer digital experiences for Caribbean children:

  • 1. Research & Data Collection:

  • We conduct region-specific studies to understand how Caribbean children use the internet, what risks they face, and how adults can better support them.

  • 2. Community Education & Training:

  • From workshops for parents to school-based sessions, we help adults stay informed about the ever-changing digital landscape.

  • 3. Parent & Caregiver Resources:

  • We offer practical guides, conversation tools, and everyday strategies to help families create healthy online habits at home.

  • 4. Advocacy & Policy Engagement:

  • We work with educators, nonprofits, and policymakers to shape child-first digital safety policies rooted in local realities.

  • 5. School & Youth Outreach:

  • Through age-appropriate talks and creative activities, we help children understand online risks and how to protect themselves.
